Louisville Firebirds to Join the UFL

by UFL Staff

ATLANTA, GA-- The United Football League (UFL) is pleased to announce that the Louisville Firebirds will join thirteen current members in joining the UFL for the 2023 campaign.

The Firebirds will be located in the United States' thirty-seventh most populous metro area in Louisville, Kentucky. Kentucky's largest city has hosted a variety of sports entities including the AF2's Louisville Firebirds in the early 2000s. The 2023 relaunch of the UFL will be Kentucky's first outdoor professional football team since the Louisville Breckenridges and Louisville Colonels of the 1920's National Football League.

The Firebirds did not release further details as the league has asked joining members to withhold additional information at this time.

The UFL will make team details and league announcements later this fall in an official league press release slated for later this fall.
